John often makes omelets in the microwave. Personally, I can't stand eggs that have been nuked, but he claims they are delicious!

This week's Shutterday asks us for "This week's theme: I Ate This (Show us what you odd ducks will put in your bills...)" Personally, I don't think I eat anything odd, and if I did, I probably wouldn't take a picture of it. What you're looking at is a simple taco salad--a base of Fritos chips covered in taco meat, refried beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese and sour cream! Muy Bueno

Cheap

Beans...I can't think of anything cheaper. We all might be eating more of these in the days to come. Good thing I like them!

Comfort food

I knew I was saving this photo for something special!

I know that PhotoHunt submissions are supposed to be new (although I had forgotten that rule until a few weeks ago when another photo-blogger mentioned it in a post), but I can't think of anything more comforting than a turkey dinner. This was John's first helping from last Thanksgiving!

My taquitos, rice and beans at Bandidos Mexican Cafe in Hillsborough, NC. I could eat Mexican food every day!

Retro

I almost always turn a plate over to see where it was made. That's a family trait that comes from my grandfather who worked in a pottery for over 50 years. I didn't have to turn this one over, though, to know that it was Fiestaware made by Homer Laughlin. They've been making that same design since the 30s!
