Outside

Not sure if this is some kind of honeysuckle, but it sure smelled good!

I love the way the seeds line up in perfect rows.

This is submitted to a new photo meme that I read about HERE. Check them out!

White

For the third time this week, I've responded to a meme that asks for something "White". I suppose they've all had snow in mind, but since we've only had flurries once this year, way back in November if you can imagine, then I've been looking for other white things to show. This was taken at Duke Gardens in the spring of 2006.

Flower

Many people call them weeds, but I've always thought of dandelions as pretty wildflowers!

Open

This is probably the last of my volunteer sunflowers this year. There are several that have looked ready to bloom for days now, but this is the only one that opened. I hadn't planned on trying to photograph the bee, but he wouldn't go away.

Tiny

I grew up seeing these tiny flowers everywhere, but I never heard a name for them. When I decided to use this photo, I decided to figure out what they are. It's not easy to know how to search for a description, but I Googled "tiny pink flower weed" and looked thru the images until I found one that gave me a name! Turns out they're called smartweed or ladysthumb. Who knew?

I seem to have a lot of volunteers growing under my birdfeeder. This morning glory sprouted last week.

I'm not sure what kind of flower this is. I took this a couple years ago at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens.

Flower

This is one of my latest "crop" of flower pictures. As in the past, this is a volunteer sunflower growing under one of my bird feeders. I have no idea what that bug is that's on it, I had never seen one of those before!

Pink

A rose from my recent visit to the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. I was torn between sharing this one, or a picture of the plastic pink flamingos in my yard.
