Do I really think this is "The BEST photo [I] have ever taken!"? Probably not. My all-time favorites are probably pictures I took years ago with my 35mm film camera, which I would need to scan. That's not gonna happen today. I do tend to be happier with how my landscapes look than with any other subject matter, which is why I chose this one.
That brick pathway on the right is a distraction and focuses attention away from the nice view. It also makes it seem less like you are in the middle of nature. The composition might even benefit from cropping it out.
